1. General Information
Name: Wang Duoyun Gender: Male
Born: Minqin Town in Gansu Province
Title: Second-order Professor and Ph.D. Supervisor of the College of Resources Science and Technology, Beijing Normal University
Received Master’s Degree from Lanzhou Institute of Geology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Ph.D. from the Institute of Geology (the current Institute of Geology and Geophysics), the Chinese Academy of Sciences
Senior Visiting Scholar of the Department of Geology, University of Toronto, Canada, in 1998

Engaged in studies on lithofacies palaeogeography, sequence stratigraphy, reservoir geology, reservoir description and reservoir prediction of oil-gas regions, and has seen significant achievements in oil-gas reservoir prediction, identification, and description with the close combination of reservoir sedimentology and exploration geophysics.. Has done innovative theoretical elaboration work and successfully applied accumulation law for lithological oil-gas in Delta depositional systems in the sea-land transition environment and continental rivers, with Ordos Basin as the main research base. Has an excellent reputation in academia and in industry.

Since 1993, has presided over and completed more than fifty projects, including National Key Scientific and Technological projects, projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, China Petroleum Key projects, and cooperative projects with oil fields. Has published sixty papers and completed fifty research reports, bringing great economic benefit to the businesses involved. Twice received Second Prize of the Provincial and Ministerial Award for Progress in Science and Technology as project chairman, and has supervised more than twenty post-graduates and doctors.

Member of the Professional Committee of Sedimentary Geology, the Geological Society of China, the Professional Committee of Sedimentology, the Chinese Society for Mineralogy, Petrology, and Geochemistry, and Regular Member of the International Association of Sedimentologists. Editorial Board Member of Acta Sedimentologica Sinica and Natural Gas Geo-science, among others.

2. Research Fields
(1) The tectonic environment of oil-gas regions and the filling process of sedimentary basins, including mountain and basin coupling mechanisms and evolution in oil-gas regions, the orogenic belt, and basin paleogeographic environment reconstruction; analysis of oil-gas reservoir accumulation conditions, zone evaluation as well as prediction and selection of favourable zones..
(2) Reservoir sedimentology and sequence stratigraphy, including macro- and micro- reservoir studies on oil-gas exploration phases, as well as deep research in stratigraphy and reservoir evaluation in the development phase.
